Top Restaurant Patios in Missouri

We love sharing an amazing meal on a patio as a team, and these are some of our absolute favorite spots east of State Line to break bread and toast to warmer weather!

Bean Counter Cafe – 2101 Central St, Kansas City, MO 64108
This darling cafe isn’t your average coffee shop for many reasons, but let’s start with Bean Counter Cafe‘s location inside of Colonial Gardens plant nursery. Imagine sipping your latte whilst perusing their vast array of plant life, and then enjoying a homemade sandwich full of locally sourced ingredients on the patio surrounded by greenery and sunshine.

Boulevard Brewing – 2501 Southwest Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108
Boulevard Brewing has long been a local favorite of beer drinkers in Kansas City, but with their ever-evolving offerings and sprawling hangout space we’re certain that even those without a taste for hops will love it! Grab a snack from the kitchen in the beer hall and challenge friends to a game of shuffleboard, or order a flight of different brews and head out to the patio for a scenic tasting experience.

Char Bar – 4050 Pennsylvania Ave #150, Kansas City, MO 64111
Char Bar professes to be a new kind of “urban playground” where carnivores, herbivores and locavores can co-mingle peacefully as “Charbarians”. While they certainly attract carnivores from all over town for their juicy, smoked meats, Char Bar also offers a variety of salads, brunch plates and even smoked jack fruit to satisfy the appetite of any non-meat eater. Their sprawling patio is a prime spot to enjoy leisurely meal, and if you’re up for it you can also enjoy an outdoor game of Bocce ball, ping pong or cornhole.

Chicken ‘N’ Pickle – 1761 Burlington St, North Kansas City, MO 64116
Another awesome outing for anyone who likes a little athletic display with their chicken wings, Chicken ‘N’ Pickle brings the food and the fun. They serve up mouthwatering chicken dishes of all kinds alongside their famous pickleball courts, and between the main restaurant and indoor courts is a huge patio garden area complete with plenty of seating and a variety of yard games.

Drunken Fish – 14 E 14th St, Kansas City, MO 64106
Drunken Fish, a modern Japanese restaurant, has won numerous awards for its Asian fusion dishes and it’s stunning sushi rolls, and if you’ve ever been you know why. Pair an amazing dining experience with a seat on their patio located right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Power & Light District, and you are guaranteed to be in for a great time!

Eddie V’s – 700 W 47th St Ste 115, Kansas City, MO 64112
Seafood lovers, unite! Eddie V’s will draw you in with its Plaza location, beautiful patio and fancy cocktails, but you’ll stay for the next-level seafood menu and stellar service. If you’re shy about having oceanic creatures on your dinner plate, might we suggest starting with the crab fried rice – it will change your life.

Fox and Pearl – 2143 Summit St, Kansas City, MO 64108
Fox and Pearl’s mission is to create quality modern, midwestern cuisine with integrity, which they accomplish through using fresh, seasonal ingredients and a variety of unique cooking techniques. The cozy restaurant has a fresh, mid-century modern vibe, and their brick patio outback is covered in twinkly lights and lush greenery for a delightful open-air dining experience.

Gram & Dun – 600 Ward Pkwy, Kansas City, MO 64112
Gram & Dun specializes in culinarily-driven American fare and complementing it with perfect drink pairings. Their location has a beautiful patio with ample outdoor seating that offers sweeping views of the surrounding Country Club Plaza and Brush Creek.

Grinders KC – 417 E 18th St, Kansas City, MO 64108
Grinders KC is THE spot for authentic New York-style pizza slices in downtown Kansas City. The staff is friendly and relaxed, the pizza is fresh and delicious, and if you’re in the mood for something else they also have awesome wings and grinder sandwiches. There is a small patio out back that overlooks the CrossroadsKC amphitheater, but if you really want to spread out you can check out our Kansas list for their Lenexa location.

Iron District – 1599 Iron Street, North Kansas City, MO 64116
Iron District is a container park featuring various food vendors, a full bar and shops, and a major bonus is that it’s dog friendly. We could spend hours on their open patio trying all the different cuisines that surround it, including sushi, sliders and crepes, oh my! If you decide to try it out, you may just spot us there.

JJ’s Restaurant – 4810 Roanoke Pkwy, Kansas City, MO 64112
JJ’s brings a fresh approach to contemporary American cuisine and pairs it with a stellar wine list for a truly upscale experience. Their surroundings in the Polsinelli Building create a warm and inviting atmosphere, with just a bit of European flair. Enjoy happy hour on their patio for fresh air and refreshing views, and stay for the luxurious dining.

Parker at The Fontaine – 901 W 48th Pl, Kansas City, MO 64112
Parker’s rooftop location on the Plaza serves up breathtaking rooftop views alongside shareable plates and craft cocktails. Just stepping foot up here will make you feel next-level fancy, and you’ll be planning to host your next summer gathering here in no time.

Percheron – 2101 Central St, Kansas City, MO 64108
Craft cocktails with a stunning rooftop view calling your name? It doesn’t get better than Percheron, the open-air bar perfectly situated on the rooftop of the Crossroads Hotel. 180-degree views of downtown dazzle as you sip your drink or dive into a wood-fired pizza from XR Cafe on the ground floor of the hotel, which you can order from your waiter to be delivered to your rooftop table.

The Pressed Penny Tavern – 1511 Westport Rd, Kansas City, MO 64111
The Pressed Penny Tavern serves a mix of classy, casual cocktails and artfully crafted small plates that will keep you coming back, but where else can you also get brunch seven days a week? Inspired by an Ernest Hemingway quote, this little gem tucked off of Westport Road in West Plaza has a dark, cozy atmosphere that welcomes you in and makes you feel as if you might spot Mr. Hemingway himself sipping whiskey in the corner. Sunny days will beckon you out back to their shaded patio for a carafe of mimosas or perhaps a 32-ounce Grand Bloody complete with a bacon and shrimp garnish.

Red Door Grill – 6324 Brookside Plaza, Kansas City, MO 64113 and 9703 N. Ash Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64157
Red Door Grill calls itself “The best little upscale neighborhood joint,” and we think that’s pretty accurate, at least as far as chain restaurants go. They have a way of elevating traditional fast-casual food and putting their own spin on house specials like whiskey-marinated prime rib on Sundays and fried jalapeno chicken. We’ll take any meal on their patio on a beautiful day, but there’s something about enjoying their Sunday brunch and list of specialty breakfast cocktails outside that just hits different. Check out our Kansas list for their Overland Park and Leawood Locations.

Rye – 4646 Mill Creek Pkwy, Kansas City, MO 64112
Our mouths are watering just thinking about Rye – we love restaurants with smaller menus that just hit every dish out of the park, and that is absolutely the case here! You can’t go wrong with any order, but if you try their fried chicken and any whiskey-based craft cocktail we promise you won’t regret it. Now pair that with a warm, breezy evening on their patio and you have found yourself a little slice of heaven. Check out our Kansas list for their Leawood location.

Sauced – 1881-B Main St., Kansas City, MO 64108
This new “urban lunch counter” concept in the heart of the Crossroads is as refreshing as it is delicious! Located in the PARC development off of 19th and Main, Sauced is essentially a stationary food truck in an urban park with a sprawling cement patio complete with plenty of picnic tables and landscaping. Their menu is short and saucy, consisting of the three main food groups: burgers, chicken and fries. What else could you need?

Somerset Wine and Cider Bar – 311 E. 135th Street, Kansas City, MO 64145
Somerset Wine and Cider Bar‘s quaint patio, tucked away inside Rosehill Gardens plant nursery, has everything you could want from a leisurely wine tasting adventure. A large, well-appointed patio with plenty of tables for seating in the fresh air, a stage where you can often find live musicians sharing their talent with patrons, and a spot for local food trucks to park and share their delicacies. Inside, you’ll find a small shop filled with bottles of their products and some fun trinkets and gifts like festive wine glasses. Check out our Kansas list for their winery and tasting room in Paola.

Summit Grill – 4835 NE Lakewood Way, Lee’s Summit, MO 64064, in Waldo at 520 W. 75th St., Kansas City, MO 64114, and in downtown Gladstone at 501 NE 70th St., Gladstone, MO 64118
Summit Grill’s original location in Lee’s Summit features a gorgeous patio where you can enjoy their comprehensive, chef-driven menu that includes brunch, lunch, happy hour and dinner with a range of options from hand-cut steaks to fresh seafood and salads to delectable desserts. They have a fabulous happy hour that is perfect to enjoy during a patio sitting session, but their varied menu and elevated atmosphere also make it a great choice for a date night or special celebration.
