What's up, Kansas City! Another weekend is almost upon us, and we have a dozen fun events for you to enjoy all over town. Let us know where we might run into you!
Friday, July 19
The weekend kicks off with a classic: A Bug’s Life will be playing during Movie Night at the Overland Park Arboretum, a cozy way to enjoy the summer evening. If you're craving a little culture, head to Downtown Overland Park for Third Fridays, where you’ll find a variety of art displays and local restaurants and shops to enjoy. Music lovers, don’t miss Earth, Wind & Fire at Starlight—this legendary group is bringing the soul and the hits. Bonner Springs is keeping things cool with Aloha Friday at the aquatic park, and Mr. Stinky Feet is performing his famously silly, high-energy songs at Louisburg City Park.
Saturday, July 20
On Saturday, foodies can get their fix at Food Truck Frenzy in Old Town Lenexa, while bargain hunters will want to check out the Downtown Lee’s Summit Sidewalk Sale. If the weekend makes you crave craft beer, there are a couple of excellent routes: the KC Summer Brew Fest at Kauffman Stadium or the Beer Crawl in Historic Downtown Liberty—both promise plenty of samples and summer vibes. And if you’re looking to wind down after all that, Adult Moonlight Swim in Mission offers a relaxing end to the day, complete with a screening of Twisters for participants 18+.
Sunday, July 21
On Sunday, families and parents-to-be can swing by Babies & Bumps, a one-day event dedicated to all things baby and parenting. And if you're a dog lover (or just need an excuse to hang out with a bunch of pups), Bar K's Summer Pool Party will deliver splashy fun for both humans and their four-legged best friends.
