What’s up, Kansas City! It’s going to warm up a little this weekend, so we have some fun events to help you enjoy these last vestiges of summer.

Friday: An Enchanted Evening

Kick off the weekend with Terra Luna at the Overland Park Arboretum, an immersive nighttime experience that transforms the gardens into a glowing, magical landscape of light and sound. It’s the perfect way to enjoy a late summer evening surrounded by art and nature.

Saturday: Festivals All Around

Saturday brings a variety of festivals that highlight the best of Kansas City’s culture and community:

  • Ward Parkway Fall Festival – A neighborhood favorite with live music, local vendors, food, and plenty of fall vibes.

  • Deaf Cultural Festival at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art – A celebration of Deaf culture through performances, storytelling, and art, offering an educational and inclusive experience for all.

  • A Taste of Leawood – Food lovers won’t want to miss this culinary showcase featuring dozens of local restaurants and eateries, plus drinks and live entertainment in a lively outdoor setting.

Sunday: Sports & Sips

Sunday is all about football, beer, and bikes. Cyclists can join Gears & Beers: Oktoberfest Brewery Ride, which combines a scenic ride with stops at local breweries—an Oktoberfest twist on Sunday cycling.

Meanwhile, Chiefs fans can rally at the New Heights Tailgate, a Coca-Cola Game Day Experience ahead of Kansas City’s matchup with Philadelphia. Expect music, food, drinks, and plenty of energy leading into kickoff.
