Today weβre talking about Black History Month, the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and Kansas City being a buyer-friendly metro area!Β
1οΈβ£ It is officially Black History Month in Kansas City! To honor the 100th anniversary of this important celebration, the Zhou B Art Center Kansas City is hosting a beautiful commemoration titled Reclaiming the Canvas this Saturday, February 7th. The Art Exhibition starting at 2 p.m. and the Visual Artist Cocktail Hour are free for anyone to attend, and tickets are available to purchase for the Live Performance Showcase that will take place from 7 - 10 p.m. Come witness the beauty, brilliance, and power of Black art expression!
2οΈβ£ Itβs been reported that the England national soccer team will stay at the Inn at Meadowbrook in Prairie Village for this summer's World Cup! Although England wonβt be participating in the games hosted in Kansas City during the 2026 World Cup, the team reportedly will work and spend downtime here. You may get a glimpse of the team if youβre in the area this summer, but good luck getting a room at the Inn - the hotelβs website shows no rooms available for more than a month starting on June 10th.
3οΈβ£ According to a recent Zillow study, Kansas City is in the top 50% of buyer-friendly metro areas when it comes to residential real estate markets. KC Ranked #20 out of 49 spots on the list, with a typical home value of $310,274 as of December 2025. (By comparison, the #1 friendliest metro area for buyers was Indianapolis with a typical home value of $283,040). This means Kansas City real estate is still more affordable than over half of metro areas in the U.S., and still a great place to invest in real estate!Β
