Today we’re talking about a “Royal” wedding , the cutest dog in KC , and local restaurants who are stepping up in the face of food uncertainty.

1️⃣ 𝐀 “𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥” 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐊𝐚𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦. 

Denny Matthews, infamous Royals broadcaster since the team’s inception in 1969, is tying the knot in the most perfect way we can imagine: at Kauffman Stadium! Matthews said his fiancé, Amy Baker, proposed the idea to marry at the ballpark for their November 15th wedding. Guests have been invited to dress as though they are attending a game and can expect ballpark-style food along with some special wedding day extras. Congratulations to the happy couple!

2️⃣ 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐬 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲? 

The results are in, and after polling nearly 6,000 readers the Kansas City Star has chosen the winner of their Cutest Dog competition! A tiny 1-year-old Yorkshire Terrier named Teddy has taken the title. Congratulations to Teddy and his family on the win, and good luck as you move on to the national competition!

3️⃣ 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐊𝐂 𝐠𝐨 𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐲. 

Several local restaurants are refusing to let Kansas Citians go hungry as many face the uncertainty of receiving SNAP benefits during the government shutdown. Kansas City Magazine’s list of spots taking action includes Jalapeños Brookside, Dolce Caffè, Aurora Cafe & Bakery, Marisco’s Shawnee, Lilly’s Cantina, Café Cà Phê, PeachTree, Ate 1 Six Food Truck, Nour’s, and The Campground.
