Today we’re talking about Kansas City ranking in the top 3 of a recent Redfin list, a Michelin-starred chef putting down roots at the riverfront, and a local therapist who created a dating app based on emotional intelligence.

1️⃣ Kansas City is near the top of Redfin’s Most Neighborly Cities of 2026! The real estate giant analyzed multiple factors for the most populous U.S. cities, including rates of citizens who report community involvement, volunteering and helping neighbors. Kansas City ranked #3 on the list of 10 cities total, and we couldn’t be more proud!

2️⃣ Michelin-starred chef Nicholas Sefanelli is set to open his first restaurant outside of his native Washington, D.C. stomping grounds, hopefully sometime in 2026. The name of the new venture has yet to be announced publicly, but we know it is an Italian restaurant on Kansas City’s riverfront near CPKC Stadium. The restaurant will be part of the $1Billion mixed used development that will be known as Current Landing.

3️⃣ KC-based therapist Kieri Olmstead has developed a dating app that promises to filter users for emotional intelligence. Sova Dating is designed to make dating less performative and more emotionally honest; unlike traditional apps that revolve around photos and clever prompts, Sova’s approach is slower and more methodical. The app says it β€œgatekeeps based on emotional availability,” inviting users to begin with a Relational Readiness Quiz that maps β€œrelational archetypes” and emotional capacity.
