Today we’re talking about Travis Kelce’s future in the NFL, the expansion of KC’s only hand-rolled sushi restaurant, and a local rap icon going on tour in 2026.Β 

1️⃣ Travis Kelce has officially signed on for his 14th season with the Kansas City Chiefs! The veteran tight end is returning with a one-year, $12 million contract that is worth up to $15 million, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Monday. We for one are looking forward to his return and hope for a major Chiefs comeback next season!

2️⃣ Kata Nori is opening a second location less than three years after its original spot at 18th & Oak opened in September of 2023. It remains KC’s only hand-rolled sushi restaurant and is expanding to the former André’s Confiserie Suisse space in Overland Park. Owners KK Kim, Nam Phan, and chef Bass Pham have long planned to expand following the success of the Crossroads restaurant, which KC Magazine dubbed one of Kansas City’s Best New Restaurants in 2023 and later includedΒ 

in their 2025 Best KC Restaurants list.Β 

3️⃣ Local rap icon Tech N9ne announced a national tour for the spring of 2026 that will end withΒ 

his Kansas City performance at The Midland on May 24. He will be co-headlining the Strange Wid’ It Tour with Bay Area hip-hop veteran E-40. Tickets are on sale now, so dust off that Caribou Lou recipe and get ready for an epic show!
