The project is part of KCโs ambitious effort to create 100 murals that showcase the cityโs artistic talent to visitors from around the globe.
2๏ธโฃ Kansas Cityโs much- anticipated heavy metal-inspired coffee shop is having its grand opening this Friday. Taking over the space in Waldo that previously housed Second Best, the atmosphere features concrete floors, wood accents, and rad artwork. Also, the music plays at a soft enough level to work or enjoy conversation - no head-banging here. The menu offers coffee, tea, matcha, and the reincarnation of Second Bestโs beloved breakfast burritos.
3๏ธโฃ The Kansas City Current launched a no-cost youth soccer league. In collaboration with U.S. Soccer, KC Parks & Recreation, and Kansas State Youth Soccer, the league will be hosted at the newly renovated 9th & Van Brunt Athletic Fields. About 120 kids ages 8-10 across seven community teams will get a free Nike jersey, cleats, shin guards, and soccer balls, with play kicking off July 11 โ the same day as the World Cup quarterfinal at Kansas City Stadium.
