1️⃣ American Royal opens its long-awaited $375M home

After 127 years, the American Royal officially has a permanent home of its own. The new 390,000-square-foot campus includes more than 1,500 horse stalls and as many as eight simultaneous arenas, creating a major new KC destination for agriculture, education and events. Its first fall events are already underway.

2️⃣ KC is turning an underpass into a neighborhood art gateway

Kansas City is inviting local artists to transform 12 columns beneath I-70 along Brooklyn Avenue into murals celebrating the surrounding neighborhoods' culture, history and stories. The $30,000 public-art project is designed to create a more welcoming pedestrian connection toward the historic 18th & Vine Jazz District—and selected semifinalists will be paid to develop their concepts.

3️⃣ Chiefs Charity Game selects Phoenix Family as its next beneficiary

The Chiefs and Hunt Family Foundation announced that local nonprofit Phoenix Family will become the beneficiary of the annual Chiefs Charity Game beginning in 2027. Phoenix Family works with children, seniors and families in affordable-housing communities, making this another hometown partnership that turns Chiefs enthusiasm into community support.
