Today weβre talking about KC being the top domestic summer destination, a new Autism clinic for kids, and an Eagle Scout helping KS families fight hunger.
1οΈβ£New York-based magazine Travel + Leisure shared its list of the top trending domestic and international summer travel destinations for 2026, and Kansas City topped the domestic list! Itβs no secret that hosting six FIFA World Cup games has increased our popularity, but Google data also showed that some of the other activities visitors were excited to check out include the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium and the Wonderscope Childrenβs Museum of Kansas City.
2οΈβ£ Caravel Autism Health recently opened to provide therapy for children with Autism 18-months to six-years-old. Sara Scheible, the director of the clinic, said the facility features rooms designed to support children with both sensory-seeking and sensory-avoidant needs. "There aren't as many resources like us out there in the community," She said. "And when they are, they're filled up quite quickly." We hope this new addition helps the families in our community who need faster access to these resources!
3οΈβ£ Mason Cooley, 15, a member of Troop 289 in Spring Hill, just completed his Eagle Scout project of making 500 lasagnas for KS families in need. After his parents lost their jobs during the pandemic, they found help through Lasagna Love, a volunteer organization that helps lighten the load of financial difficulty by making lasagnas to give away. When Mason saw that hundreds of requests that had been sitting on Lasagna Love, he wanted to close the gap and create a project to earn his Eagle Scout rank. Amazing work, Mason!
