The happiest headlines in Kansas City this week are hot off the press! šŸ”„

Today we’re talking about two of our favorite things, KC sports šŸˆāš½ļø and tacos 🌮. We are super excited for one of our favorite local taco chains to open its fifth location, over the moon about KC getting its first women’s sports-focused sports bar, and delighted to finally welcome Rashee Rice back to the field for the rest of the 2025 Chiefs season!Ā

1ļøāƒ£ The first sports bar in Kansas City dedicated to women’s sports is officially opening this Thursday, October 16th! ā€œThe Dubā€ is located downtown right next door to Mildred’s Baltimore location, and the tagline on thedubkc.com declares them ā€œKansas City's Hub for Every Dub - Let's Watch women's sports in a bar!ā€ You can count us in!

2ļøāƒ£ After a much needed win against the Detroit Lions on Sunday night, the Kansas City Chiefs are in for more good news this week! Acclaimed receiver Rashee Rice is set to return to the practice field Wednesday after completing his six-game suspension to start the 2025 season. The NFL handed down the ban under its personal conduct policy, following Rice’s involvement in a multi-vehicle crash in Dallas in March 2024.

3ļøāƒ£ Congratulations to the Tiki Taco team on readying to open its fifth area restaurant! The new location of the local favorite taco joint will open in Shawnee on Oct. 14 at 11200 Johnson Drive. Tiki Taco signed a five-year lease for the space, which previously housed Al Chile Taco Shop. Its location is in Shawnee's resurgent downtown, just west of Johnson and Nieman Road. The space seats 30 inside, plus up to 55 on the outdoor patio.
