Today weβre talking about Leawood ranking on a 100 hottest zip codes list, KC BBQ luring soccer teams to stay here during the 2026 World Cup, and a charming new needlepoint shop in Parkville.
Β
1οΈβ£ Leawood, KS landed on The Business Journalsβ list of 100 hottest housing markets in the U.S.! The list is based on data that shows locations where activity is surging, prices are dramatically rising or homes are selling at a faster pace. The vast majority of the list boasts towns in the Sun Belt and on the east coast, but the midwest makes a few notable appearances with Indiana, Ohio, and of course Kansas.
Β
2οΈβ£ The Parkville Needlepoint House in a little pink abode at 205 Main Street is officially open! Owner Sydney Kincaid works with small artists and businesses to source all the needlepoint canvases in her shop and is also working to create her own in-house design studio. She hosts a weekly open stitch club on Saturdays for needlepoint enthusiasts of all skill levels, and hopes to expand her list of events in the future.
Β
3οΈβ£ Is Kansas City barbecue the reason that we are the only metro area in the entire country who will be hosting THREE top-10 teams during the FIFA World Cup this summer? We wouldnβt be surprised. Argentina and the Netherlands have now followed England in choosing to set up camp in KC this summer. Argentina reportedly finished their base camp scouting visit by inhaling most of the menu at Jack Stack, and we have to believe thatβs a big part of what sealed the deal.Β
