Happy St. Patrick’s Day, KC! Today we’re talking about major medical advancements from a renowned local healthcare system, midwest teams making it to March Madness, and a new niche perfume bar in Brookside. 

1️⃣ Children’s Mercy signed a licensing agreement to help bring to market a treatment that could help children and adults with movement disorders and Parkinson’s disease. The Kansas City-based hospital said it signed an exclusive licensing deal with Vima Therapeutics for an oral treatment developed by Children’s Mercy researchers, and has a Fast Track designation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to move to trials. We wish them the best of luck in this important endeavor!

2️⃣ In a stroke of luck and a lot of hard work on behalf of midwest college athletes, both KU and Mizzou have both secured their spots in the NCAA Tournament! KU earned the No. 4 seed and Mizzou the No. 10 seed on different sides of the bracket. Both teams will play in the first round of March Madness this Friday, March 20th.

3️⃣ Just in time for a fresh spring scent, a new niche perfume bar has set up inside of Brookside lifestyle store GEORGE. Perfumer Heather Bath comes from a long lineage of winemakers, and often compares her personalized scent styling sessions to vino - “like a wine tasting, but with fragrance.” A 30-minute fragrance fitting may just have you falling in love with a delicious new signature fragrance, or perhaps Travis Kelce’s favorite scent? Wouldn’t that be lucky.
