1️⃣ Downtown KC’s long-awaited Luminary Park is officially moving toward construction.

A decades-long dream took a major step forward: Kansas City approved funding to begin Phase One construction of Roy Blunt Luminary Park, the planned deck park over I-670. The project is designed to turn space above the highway into a new downtown gathering place and green space connecting neighborhoods on either side.

2️⃣ Kansas City is investing $2 million+ in neighborhood events and community culture.

Kansas City is awarding more than $2 million to 246 local events and projects through its Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund. The recipients span arts, dance, music, neighborhood organizations and cultural celebrations—including groups like the Kansas City Ballet, Guadalupe Centers and City in Motion—giving hundreds of community-building projects a boost.

3️⃣ A locally grown pizza spot opens another location in Johnson County.

Kansas City-area favorite Pizza Tascio just opened its newest location in Mission, bringing its New York-style slices and pies to another town in the KC Metro.
