It is finally starting to feel like fall here in the midwest, and our Wi$h Li$t for Kansas City this weekend is pretty simple: have a little halloween fun, a taste of fall, and a sip of a seasonal brew.

Luckily we’ve got all of that and more lined up for you this weekend, October 10 - 12!

🎃 Get a Head Start on Halloween

If you’ve already got pumpkins on the porch and candy in the pantry, it’s time to lean in. Woof’s Play & Stay is hosting its annual Trunk or Treat across all three of its locations in Leawood, Prairie Village, and Overland Park — a perfect excuse to dress up your dog and join other pet lovers for a little early Halloween fun.

Another family-focused spooky outing is happening at Ironwoods Park in Leawood during their Into the Night Fall Festival. Expect hayrides, games, a haunted trail, and plenty of costumes — it’s one of those “only-in-October” events that perfectly kicks off the Halloween season.

🍎 Take a Bite of a Fall Fest

Nothing says fall like live music, local vendors, and the smell of caramel apples in the air. Zona Rosa’s Fall Fest brings that classic seasonal magic to the Northland with pumpkins, crafts, and live entertainment.

Down in Johnson County, the Shawnee Indian Mission Fall Festival celebrates local history and community with artisans, live music, and food trucks spread across the Mission grounds. And for something unique, GirlFest at the Overland Park Convention Center showcases local businesses, workshops, and activities for all kids — it’s equal parts fun and empowering.

🍻 Brew Up Some Fun

If your version of “fall flavor” comes in a pint glass, you’re in luck. SERV Beer Fest in Overland Park is serving up craft brews, games, and live music in their signature open-air space — it’s basically tailgating, but classier.

Or, for something wilder, join Brew at the Zoo at the Kansas City Zoo. You can sip local beers, enjoy food pairings, and explore the zoo after hours. It’s 21+ and a perennial local favorite.
